Dr. Tatiana Păduraru, Director of the South-eastern Europe Health Network (SEEHN) Secretariat, met with Dr. Corinne Capuano, Officer-in-Charge of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, on the margins of the 76th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on shared public health priorities and explore opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between SEEHN and WHO/Europe.

Discussions focused on the upcoming SEEHN Ministerial Forum, the ongoing development of the Bucharest Pledge, and the importance of reinforcing political commitment and coordinated regional action to address common health challenges across South-eastern Europe.

The exchange also highlighted the relevance of the Western Balkans Strategy 2.0, referenced in SEEHN’s statement during the Regional Committee session, and its contribution to advancing regional health priorities.

Looking ahead, the discussions addressed the planning of a joint training initiative on health diplomacy in spring 2027, in cooperation with the WHO representation in Brussels. The initiative is envisaged as an opportunity to strengthen institutional capacities, foster policy dialogue and enhance regional engagement in international health cooperation.

SEEHN reaffirmed its commitment to its longstanding partnership with WHO/Europe and to translating shared strategic priorities into concrete regional initiatives and sustainable cooperation.
