SEEHN NATIONAL HEALTH COORDINATORS

As stipulated in the Memorandum of understanding on the future of SEEHN in the framework of the South East European Co-operation Process (2008 and beyond), the national health coordinators and alternates shall be decision-making and/or decision influencing professionals at the level of state secretary, deputy minister, and/or as designated by the respective minister of health.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE NATIONAL HEALTH COORDINATORS AND OF THE ALTERNATES

(a) To act as the official nominee and representative of the SEE member state Ministry of health for the SEE Health Network in the periods between the Ministerial Forums; in that respect, to be supported by the official Alternate and if necessary, by an assistant with fluent knowledge of English language as English is the SEEHN official language.
(b) To keep the minister of health fully informed of the SEE Health Network development, achievements, challenges and the role and contribution of the respective member state to the Network;
(c) To establish a national core group (committee) for the implementation of all SEE Health Network activities; such a core groups shall comprise of member state National Focal Points for the respective areas of the regional collaboration;
(d) To monitor the work of all member state National Focal Points;
(e) To monitor and support the work of the country RHDC where designated;
(f) To liaise on permanent basis with the SEEHN Secretariat as needed and to respond on a timely and regular basis as required;
(g) To participate in the regular Regional Meetings/Plenary meetings of the SEE Health Network and express there the official opinion of the member state Ministry of health; in that respect, to be authorized by the minister of health with a decision-taking mandate when it comes to the common interests and the regional collaboration for health;
(h) To express the interests of his/her country during the SEEHN Regional Meetings;
(i) To provide all information requested by the SEEHN Secretariat in the course of the regional collaboration;
