SEEHN at WHO RC76: Advancing Regional Cooperation for Better Health
At the 76th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, held in Copenhagen on 27–29 October 2026, the South-Eastern Europe Health Network (SEEHN), under Romania’s Presidency, delivered three statements addressing key priorities for the European health agenda.
SEEHN interventions focused on the WHO Regional Director’s report, artificial intelligence in health and healthy ageing, highlighting the importance of turning European commitments into practical action across South-Eastern Europe.
Speaking on behalf of the SEEHN and its Member States, the head of the SEEHN Secretariat, Dr. Tatiana Păduraru, reaffirmed its support for the Second European Programme of Work 2026–2030 and welcomed the new Western Balkans Roadmap 2026–2030, building on its longstanding partnership with WHO/Europe.
From responsible AI adoption and stronger health workforce capacities to prevention, integrated care and healthy ageing, our message was clear: regional cooperation must help countries respond to shared challenges while ensuring that progress reaches people and communities.
Under Romania’s Presidency, these priorities will continue to inform regional dialogue and cooperation, including preparations for the Sixth SEEHN Ministerial Forum in Bucharest in 2027 and the forthcoming Bucharest Pledge.
Together with WHO/Europe and our partners, we remain committed to stronger, more resilient and equitable health systems.
