The "Dr. Alexandre Berlin Prize" (hereinafter ‘the Prize’) is established within the framework of the South Eastern Europe Health Network (SEEHN) to honor outstanding contributions to public health, championing health equity and regional collaboration.

Dr. Alexandre Berlin, in his role as Director General for Health at the European Commission, played a pivotal role in laying the foundation and providing unwavering support for SEEHN. His legacy continues to be recognized and celebrated across the SEEHN region and beyond.

In his honor, SEEHN will annually confer the Prize to acknowledge both lifetime achievements and recent impactful contributions to public health within the SEEHN region. Preference will be given to contributions directly aligned with SEEHN’s scope of work or the broader SEE Network.

The Prize will follow the rotating SEEHN Presidency to uphold equity, strengthen solidarity among Member States, and promote collaborative spirit over competition.. Therefore only the SEEHN Member State holding the Presidency can submit one candidate to the consideration to the SEEHN Secretariat and Selection Committee for validation purposes only.
